Leb Lango (or Lango) ♥️ is a Nilotic (sometimes debated to be Nilo-Hamitic) southern Luo language spoken in north central Uganda by the Lango people.It’s the first language of about 1.8 million people, (including myself)— roughly 5% of Uganda’s population.The Lango migrated down the River Nile into Uganda around the 15th century, as part of a broader Luo migration believed to have originated from either — or both — northwestern South Sudan and western Ethiopia, eventually settling in what is now Lira City & Apac district (my hometowns) and the other surrounding districts: Alebtong, Amolatar, Dokolo, Kole, Oyam, Otuke, and Kwania. ♥️
