Charles martial lavigerie A cardinal came to Algeria in 1867 and became it biggest bishops during colonisation .His famous sayin was : the era of the crescent in Algeria has ended and been buried, and the era of the cross has begun and will last forever. And went to Algiers ( the Capital) for a speech and during the speech he said where are u Mohamed ( talking about our prophet peace be upon him ) reffing to look we are erasing the religion .Years later we too independence and Algeria named the same place he gave his speech in Mohamadia ( inspired from the name Mohamed) .And built the biggest mosque in Africa and the 3 rd biggest mosque in the world in the very exact same place.U think u can erase it but u would never
