CURRENT SITUATION IN SERBIA 🇷🇸For those of you who are trying to "educate" me about MY country and for people who are interested in what’s happening in Serbia, let me share some facts.The current situation in Serbia is marked by frustration and protests. 1st of November, last year, in the second biggest city in Serbia (Novi Sad), the NEWLY reconstructed and renovated train station collapsed ( the canopy part) which killed 16 people, making all of Serbia outraged and furious. We wanted answers, certain people to get accountable, how could this happen if it was newly reconstructed, who did it?! Despite public demand, we didnt get those answers. President Vučić refused to provide the newly reconstruction plan of the canopy. Students were the first who collectively decided to protest, calling for greater accountability and change, seeking a government that cares and listens to its people.Some people think that this incident is the only reason why people are protesting, which is not the case, this was just the last straw. They stem from widespread corruption and political manipulation that has left citizens feeling powerless and unsafe. We have been unhappy with Serbia for years. Also! It’s important to note that comparing Serbia’s situation to countries like Ukraine or Syria makes 0 sense. Some people like to view these protests as a type of war, which as we can see in many other countries is not the case.If anybody has any questions about this situation feel free to ask. Just dont be a smartass and try to "educate" me about these protests in my country.
