After a long and arduous process of application and anticipation, I finally received the official confirmation from the Rector, related to me by my Dean, that I have been promoted to the Rank of Professor. In gratitude and appreciation for every person and circumstance in my life that has led me to this point, I hope to continue to serve my art and my students with even greater love and devotion❤️

On the first of May, besides Labor Day, which is officially celebrated, in Cyprus we go out in nature collecting flowers and make wreaths which we wear on our head and put on our door. It will stay there all year, to remind us of the rebirth of Nature. I so enjoy spending time in Nature… I am grateful for this day. 🌹🌸💐🌺🌷🌻🥀🪻🪷🌼
I visited an exhibition on Cyprus the other day. Funny how I came up to this embroidery on silk, just as I am finishing a chapter on cultural intersections between Cyprus and China. “This too shall pass”, it says and I always thought this is a Buddhist mantra, wondering how it made its way to Cyprus. probably like the stolen silk technology, through the Silk Road and via Persia. “This too shall pass” was embroidered with silken thread on silken fabrics weaved by the last weavers of Cyprus as they were leaving their villages, occupied by the Turkish forces in 1974. This too shall pass but half a century later they are still displaced, only the mantra on the impermanence of life remains as relevant as always. This too shall pass my friends, be it good or bad.
