(little drunk rant from the infuriating conversation with my professor) Skepticism is the intellectual equivalent of a six-pack when it comes to proving your point. "It's good to be skeptical, bruh." Sure. It is good. The only problem is, 9 times out of 10, what people actually mean is: I'm SELECTIVELY skeptical, and only when it fits my worldview. Take a classic example: the government. The "skeptic" will sit there with their arms folded demanding raw data, peer-reviewed charts and maybe a semen sample before they believe a SINGLE word. That's cute. Healthy skepticism, right? Except 5 minutes later the same person is on YT nodding along to every half-baked shower thought Joe Rogan or Tim Pool's beanie tell them on a daily basis. I'm sorry, you're not a gigachad. Skepticism does NOT care about your political team jersey. It means sometimes you have to question everything. Yes, even the stuff that makes you feel smart, rebellious, or morally superior.
