The English expression I have learned today: pull yourself together. A very useful expression.in Italian is: "datti una calmata" or "calmati"/"riprenditi".you can use them when the other person is sad, anxious or angry.the difference more or less is:- for anger ➡️"datti una calmata" and "calmati" ;- for sadness and anxiety ➡️ "riprenditi".i.e. "you can't suffer in this way, pull yourself together!!" = "non puoi soffrire in questo modo, riprenditi!""you are too angry today, pull yourself together!" = "sei troppo arrabbiato oggi, datti una calmata!"📚
things I have learnt here, about idiomatic expressions:🇬🇧🇺🇸 to have the guts to do somethingi.e. I had the guts to talk to that girl.He had the guts to face his father.🇮🇹 in Italian we don't use gut = intestino, we use fegato = liver insteades. Ho avuto il fegato di parlare con quella ragazza.Ha avuto il fegato di affrontare suo padre.
🇮🇹 Italian lesson - Italian cuisine 🇮🇹Learn the differences among the following dishes:1) Parmigiana, there are fried eggplant instead of pasta sheets (typical dish from South Italy)2) Vincisgrassi, there are some differences in spices and texture, sometimes there is also chicken inside (typical from South of Marche)3) Lasagne Verdi, where pasta is green, the original recipe without cheese in top is the original Lasagna alla Bolognese4) Lasagne al tartufo, it's made with truffles (typical from North of Marche)5) Lasagne alla Valdostana, there are mushrooms, fontina cheese and other ingredients instead of tomato, that's why it's white (typical from Valle d'Aosta)6) Lasagna, the currently recipe and the most famous (all over the country)Did you know these differences? Some of them are really typical from specific areas so many Italians as well don't know them. 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
🇬🇧 I make mistakes everyday but I can't give up because only in this way I can learn. The only big mistake we can make in the learning process, is to avoid what is challenging. The winner has a long journey full of defeats behind him while the loser has nothing. I'd like to be a winner, I can't give up, I'd like to reach the estimation of myself. I'm going ahead. Guys, finally I'm back here! Vado avanti. Raga, alla fine sono tornato! ⚡
