Today I will talk about the city I’m from, Detroit! Detroit is a city with a rhythm and energy unlike anywhere else, known both as the birthplace of Motown and as the “Motor City.” In the mid-20th century, Detroit’s auto industry put the world on wheels, with Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler shaping modern transportation and defining American innovation. At the same time, Berry Gordy founded Motown Records, giving rise to legendary artists like Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, and Marvin Gaye, whose soulful sound forever transformed music around the globe. Beyond cars and music, Detroit is also famous for its vibrant art scene, historic architecture, and a resilient spirit that continues to reinvent the city.
Three years ago, I visited some family members in the Netherlands! I spent time in Amsterdam as well as a few other cities nearby. I was there for tulip season, which is an incredible time to visit! The photo here is from Keukenhof gardens, the most famous tulip field in the Netherlands. Tulips aren’t originally from the Netherlands, but rather Central Asia, and were brought to the Netherlands in the 1600’s by the Turks!I attended a soccer (or football) game and saw Ajax of Amsterdam play! Unfortunately the game ended 0-0 :(I went on a canal tour through the city!It is a lovely country, I would recommend you visit!
Today I’m going to tell you a little bit about the city that I live in, Cincinnati. Cincinnati is one of three major cities in Ohio, with a population of 314,000. Cincinnati is just north of the Ohio river, and when you cross the bridges in the city, you will be in Kentucky. The city was established in 1788, and is home to the headquarters of Procter and Gamble (P&G) Kroger and GE Aerospace. Steven Spielberg, Katt Williams and Pete Rose are some famous people from the city!
In a week I will be traveling to Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮! I am very excited for my trip, and one thing I’m looking forward to is going to Linnanmäki, a famous amusement park. At the park there is a world renowned roller coaster called Taiga. There is also a famous wooden roller coaster called vuoristorata. This roller coaster is from the 1950’s, and is one of only 6 roller coasters in the world that has a brakeman, the man standing up in the back of the train. As the name suggests, he controls the braking for the roller coaster.
A few months ago I completed one of my lifelong dreams and visited Japan. I intend on making multiple posts having more detail on each city I went to but these are a few favorites from my trip. The first photo was from arashiyama bamboo grove. It is a beautiful place to visit. Depending on what time you go, it can be very busy with tourists, but if you go early in the morning or later in the afternoon crowds will be lower. The next photo is fushimi inari, famous for the thousand orange gates. Another popular destination but iconic. I would not reccomended walking through all the gates as it is a very difficult hike! 🤣Next is Nara, famous for adorable bowing deer!🦌 they are very cute but can get aggressive if they know you have food! Finally is katsuoji temple in Osaka. Famous for its many daruma. When you make a wish you paint one eye, and when you achieve your goal you paint the other! Thanks for listening!
Hi everyone! Last week I had a 10 hour layover in Miami. Instead of hanging out at the airport for 10 hours I decided to see the city, try some food (and drinks) and go to a baseball game! Miami is truly special because it has a very strong Cuban 🇨🇺 influence, with songs music and food. Calle ocho is known for being the epicenter of this with their own “little Havana”
