I Had the opportunity to stay at one of the best hotel resorts in Bintan, Indonesia ๐ฎ๐ฉ. Located just off the coast of Bintan Island, this destination is just 1 hour away from Singapore via a ferry. Approximately 25% of the island has untouched tropical rain forests, this ensures the sustainability continuity of the local wild life ecosystems.Despite being part of an archipelago of islands in Indonesia where many are prone to natural disasters, Bintan is remarkably invulnerable. With no earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanos nearby, it tops as one of the safest Islands to visit in South East Asia.
I was debating on whether or not to post this because I try to pivot my posts towards the creative side of content creation. Nonetheless i've decided to go ahead because most of us only really get to experience something like this once in our lives. Looking back I really have no clue how I managed two jobs while attending University. Now I can confidently say that if an individual dedicates absolute focus and sheer will power, they have essentially achieved the perfect state of mind to overcome any obstacle. Learn to master the art of unwavering faith and consistency if you want to achieve great things. The real kourney has just begun and life is an open book. Always be willing to learn from others because only fools believe they know everything.
ุนูู ูุฐู ุงูุงุฑุถ ู ุง ูุณุชุญู ุงูุญูุงุฉ1. " On this Earth, there is nothing more worth living for in this life " 2. " On this Earth, there is something worth living for in this life" ? Hi Arab community, which one translate the phrase in Arabic? i'm not sure. If there's a better way to translate this phrases please message me
Turkey ๐น๐ท part 2. This majestic city was once part of two of the most glorious empires in history. It was considered the cradle of Orthodox Christian Civilization starting from the 5th Century all the way up till the 13th Century. The Byzantine Empire, also referred to as the Eastern Roman Empire had unwavering control over Constantinople for 1,123 years. This came to an end in 1453 when the Ottoman Empire mustered an army of approximately 65,000 men that eventually brought the city to its knees. This major historical event was a significant catalyst which brought a new Islamic era to the region. The Ottomans carried on to rule over the city for the next 450 years until the dissolution of the Empire in 1922.Did you know that Istanbul is the only city in the world situated between two continents only to be separated by the Bosphorus Strait.
Egypt ๐ช๐ฌ part 2. My photo themes usually exclude people because I prefer to capture the historical significance or scenic beauty of a destination instead, but Egypt is a place where the people bring the place to life. Probably one of the most authentic group of people you'll meet. Their sense of humour is also something out of this world. The country today is predominately Muslim but there is a significant Coptic Christian population standing at approximately 10 million which honestly surprised me the first time I found out about this.If you look closely at the picture I took in the centre, you are able to see the Great Pyramids which are situated in the city of Giza all the way from Cairo.
I've always loved cats, so seeing them in other countries while travelling was always something special to me.The one city that had the most cat's i've ever seen per square kilometre was definitely Istanbul, Turkey ๐น๐ท. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more cats than people living in this Turkish city ๐. It's always nice to see animals in a busy metropolitan settlements. After all, we as humans have encroached on their homes to create our own. Let's treat them with dignity and respect.
Singapore ๐ธ๐ฌ Part 3. With a land surface area of slightly over 720Km2 (The same size as the city Astana, Kazakhstan ๐ฐ๐ฟ), it has the unique title of being a city-state. This means it is identified both as a city and a country simultaneously. The country has the most stable and competitive economy in South East Asia with the busiest seaport in the world.Based on 2020 data, the current religious distribution of the city can be seen below: Buddhism โธ๏ธ - 26%Atheism - 22% Islam โช๏ธ - 18%Christianity โ๏ธ - 17%Folk Religions - 9%Hinduism ๐๏ธ - 8%Due to there being no majority religion, Singapore is a secular society but is one of the most religiously diverse countries globally.Source: (In Singapore, religious diversity and tolerance go hand in hand, 6 October 2023)
Welcome to the Vatican city ๐ป๐ฆone of the holiest places for Catholics all around the world. The iconic historical church within its walls is called Saint Peter's Basilica. This monumental structure took over 100 years to build. The city was part of the Roman Empire (which later on transitioned into a republic) for nearly 200 years before it gained independence in 1929. Fun fact about this little Independent state is that its entire military is made up of soldiers from Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ . This is due to the Swiss Guards' outstanding global reputation for being one of the world's top tier mercenaries
Naples, Italy ๐ฎ๐น. One of the most memorable cities i've had the chance to visit. From here you can have a picture perfect view of the active volcano Mount Vesuvius, standing at about 1,280 metres above sea level. The very volcano that once brought the city of Pompeii to its knees in 79AD during one of the most terrifying volcanic eruptions ever documented in human civilization history. One unique trait about Naples is the language spoken there, Neapolitan. Grouped under the same language family as Italian but completed different when compared directly. Some linguists say Neapolitan so unique that it is in fact not classified as a dialect of Italian but a language of its own, comparable to the current situation between Darija ๐ฒ๐ฆ and Arabic. On a personal note, the city had one of the best Italians pizzas I've ever tasted in my life. You'll never see pizzas the same way once you've had one from Italy.
Welcome to Kazakhstan ๐ฐ๐ฟ Part 3! To give a proper introduction to the country, it is located in Central Asia and borders Russia ๐ท๐บ in the North, Uzbekistan ๐บ๐ฟ & Kyrgyzstan ๐ฐ๐ฌ in the South and China ๐จ๐ณ in the East.People in Kazakhstan primarily speak Russian and Kazakh, however English is on the rise due to better job opportunities being given to those who can speak it fluently. The main reason tourists visit this country is the beautiful nature it has to offer, from mountains and gorges to valleys and lakes, Kazakhstan has it all.The genetic make up of the people of Kazakhstan is extremely diverse due to the rich history the country has. In the 9th century the Arabs conquered southern regions of the country and introduced Islam whereas in the 14th century, Genghis Khan had taken over Kazakhstan and it was under the control of the Golden Horde after the fall of of the Mongol empire. The Russian empire had also invaded Kazakhstan in the later centuries. It was definitely one of the cleanest countries i've been to and very safe when i compare it to other countries i've visited in Europe for example. Getting around was hastle free and taxis were generally the main mode of transport for tourists. In Summary, you definitely need to visit Kazakhstan if you're a nature lover. If you don't know where to start, i would recommend Almaty and Astana, by far the 2 more popular cities to visit. But I would suggest you spend more days in Alamty as it's not as cold and there are more nature sights to visit than Astana. Just a precautionary note that Almaty is prone to Earthquakes
A lot of people have asked me why I spend a lot of time building connections with from around the world? The truth is being born in a mixed family can sometimes give you an identity crisis. I wasn't Arab enough nor was I Chinese enough to perfectly fit into both societies. To make things even more complicated English ended up being my first language while i struggled to find a place for Arabic and Chinese in my life.Subconsciously we are all searching for a place where we feel belonged, that is the reason why i've always had a strong fascination for places that are cultural mixing pots.Nonetheless my passion for linguistics will never fade and i'm looking forward to meeting people from all over the world. So far i've had the pleasure of meeting amazing language partners from Kazakhstan ๐ฐ๐ฟ, Italy ๐ฎ๐น, Egypt ๐ช๐ฌ, Turkey ๐น๐ท, Russia ๐ท๐บ, Kyrgyzstan ๐ฐ๐ฌ and Algeria ๐ฉ๐ฟ Definitely looking forward to meeting many more people in the future, by God's will
The truth is that working as a chef isn't all sunshine and roses. Chefs work between 10 to 12 hours a day on average with a 6 day work week cycle. Depending on the establishment you work for, the salary may differ. But generally speaking, it's not worth it in the long term if you aren't given the opportunity to progress in your career.Personally, cooking is a great skill to have but the most ideal place to apply these skills is either in your own business or as a home cook. This allows more flexibility for you with regards to planning and deadlines when preparing food. One big plus though is that we're always able to grab a quick bite whenever we want ๐จ๐ป๐ณ
This was taken on the way back to Singapore when i had a 10 hour layover in Dubai ๐ฆ๐ช. The good thing is once you're given the Visa on Arrival, you're free to explore the city. Dubai is probably on par with Singapore with regards to infrastructure development and technological advancements. However i do see a lack of affordability for the average working person. It seems only livable for the wealthier people in society. The main reasons why Singapore is one up Dubai for me personally is the amount of flora you can find infused into the city's infrastructure. ๐ธ๐ฌ
Believe it or not, it's actually harder to become a pastry chef than a regular chef. This is mainly due to the more challenging techniques used during the baking process. Therefore only a smaller margin of culinary students are shortlisted to join the pastry kitchen. ๐ฅฏ๐ฅ๐งThe bigger the hotel the more kitchens there will be in order to accommodate to the needs of guests from various cultures and backgrounds.
One of the most overseen things when travelling is to take pictures from the aircraft's windows. I actually wanted to share tons of videos too but unfortunately we aren't able to do that on this application. Here is a complication of fly-over photos i managed to capture on the way to various locations. Fun fact, did you know certain airlines such as Emirates and Qatar tend to generally fly at a higher altitude which can be more expensive but provide a smoother journey with minimal turbulence experiences except for during ascending and descending. ๐ซ The average cruising altitude for the typical aircraft is approximately 10,000 feet.
Singapore ๐ธ๐ฌ Part 2. I'll be quite frank, I've taken over 1,000 photos of Singapore in the last 13 years living here so i could realistically go on forever with these posts hahaha. Last post i showed more of the man-made architecture and niche tourist spots here. In this post I wanted to shift the focus more towards the unique wildlife we have in the country. Most of these animals are free to roam the city because their habitats have either been protected by the government or integrated with already existing city infrastructures. But i will say one thing, if you're afraid of cockroaches ๐ชณ, you're in for a horrible surprise because they can fly over here ๐๐
In the past a used to get a lot of conversations that somehow led to us talking about Japan ๐ฏ๐ต so I thought why not post something about the country haha. This trip was done a few years back in 2020 and it was right before the Corona Virus outbreak however, did you know wearing a mask in public is a cultural norm in Japan? These photos were taken in the southern regions called Nara, Amagasaki, Kyoto, and Osaka. The weather is relatively chilly and crisp during January where it ranges from 12ยฐC in the day time to 7ยฐC at night. A place rich in history and culture. Unfortunately, Japan is experiencing extremely low birth rates which poses future population growth and sustainability issues. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful country with the world's most efficient transport system.
I'll be honest with you, Rome ๐ฎ๐น was way too big to be complied into 9 photos so I might start adding "parts" to these moments. Rome hands down had the most spectacular architecture i've seen. The detail and effort put into the construction of the ancient buildings in Rome is something unexplainable, you need to see it with your own eyes. The good thing about the city is that it's very walking friendly, so you don't really need to take the public transportation as long as your legs are working properly ๐คฃ
It's the festive season in Singapore already and many places are already preparing for Christmas. Yesterday we served 2 special meals. The first one is slow cooked roast beef and Turkey. The interesting thing about Singapore is that the festive seasons starts very early, some businesses already started putting up Christmas decorations in November ๐Also a popular misconception is that Singapore is a Muslim country, in fact it is a secular state which means there is no religion that runs the country. Approximately only 17% of the population here are Muslims, Some interesting insights!
You've seen all moments
