As a Japanese person, I often find myself being modest or lacking confidence, but every time, the mindset of people from overseas really touches my heart.Bc, I was raised in a culture where you’re expected to always be polite, care about how others see you, and suppress your individuality, when someone tells me straight up, “You should have more confidence” or “You’re someone who deserves to be valued,” it honestly makes me want to cry. Interacting with people from other countries is so much more fun than with fellow Japanese people, and it allows me to be my true self so I really appreciate it. ☺️
