I’ve been trying to grow wasabi for many years. It was a lot of trial and error. But the last couple years I’ve had some success. I’m going to try and grind it tonight and eat it with sushi.

McDonalds is always looking for help. Paying $19/hr to start. Seems like a good wage, but maybe difficult to survive on this wage in this country.

The county fair was last week. I always like the farm animals. I hope they get treated nicely.

This showed up at the doorstep today. I never ordered anything. Crazy

Here’s some of my onion harvest. There’s still more in the garden. I think I better eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Anyone have a favorite onion recipe? Is there such a thing as an onion cocktail?

Oh gee, I’m so sad that Ozzy Osborne passed away. He was truly an idol of mine while growing up. What great music he wrote and always had great musicians working with him. Rest in peace my idol!!!

I went out for tacos today. They were really delicious! I want to make them at home.

I just pulled out my garlic that I planted last autumn. There were some really large and beautiful bulbs. I think this has been my best crop ever.

It’s sushi and sake night! Oishii!!!!

It was my last night in Japan before leaving for the US. It sure was fun. Everyone was so friendly. I met people I’ve known a long time and also made new friends. My last night I stayed out in the woods with a beautiful river and my own onsen. It was really great. I love the vending machines and had to get at least one out of the machine. I suppose I drank too much while here, but I can recover in the US

Had a nice hike in the woods to Minoh Falls in Osaka. Then went to dinner and got to pour out of this beautiful glass cup into my sake glass. Then my favorite is the vending machines that squeeze orange and apple juice. Only in Japan do you see such a thing Followed by a huge line at Don Quijote at 11:00 PM at night. People were walking out with bags of merchandise.

I think this is worth posting. What a gorgeous cup of coffee. Made by Suzuki Coffee. I’m not sure if it’s a chain or not. But it’s the first time I’ve been to one.

More good food throughout the days. However tonight I was thrown a curve. I’m not sure what to do with these snails. I would love to put these in front of people at a restaurant in America. So far I haven’t tried them, maybe I better have a couple more drinks first.

I went to eat a great dinner Friday night in Hachinohe and then I had so much fun with the locals, I didn’t get back to my room until after 4:00 AM, it was already light out. Everyone was friendly and so funny!

Lucky me, I stop in some random city and they’re having a festival! I was able to try many sake!

I had a nice dinner last night. The guys running the restaurant were so nice. The food was delicious. The couple next to me were eating raw liver, I’ve never seen that before. They offered me some but I refused their offer

I went to a popular restaurant last night. The portions were much larger than expected. I ordered too much food. This morning was sashimi and beer, strange for me to drink in the morning but it’s a good combination with the fish. Today I went outside of the city to an onsen. Now I’m having afternoon delight of sorts.

I’m at the morning market in Otaru. Many people eating and drinking for breakfast. So I decided to participate.

I didn’t feel like walking around too much tonight, so I just went into an izakaya. I like izakaya food. Nice variety of things to choose from.

Look at this beautiful caffe latte from a shop in Otaru. I almost hate to drink it!
