Glad to hear the news of the reunion of M2M and that they are going to come to China and have a tour of concerts. Unfortunately, I’m still on a business trip in Africa, so I went to the stage singing their song by myself.I’ve been listening to The Day You Went Away for more than a decade. As I remember, back on the first day of listening to this song, my English level didn’t even allow me to spell “good morning”, while now I’m working abroad and conducting high-end English communications in my daily life. What a big change for me, while I still love this song as much as a decade ago! There was a heavy rain tonight, so the atmosphere here was pretty quiet. Never mind, it suits this chilling song.Tonight I wore an ARU (Anglia Ruskin University) T-shirt, in memory of myself when I was studying hard and fighting for the chance to go to more concerts while studying abroad.
“In four days, we’re either going to change the world, or die trying.”This scientific novel depicts a severe situation at the end of the world. There was only an island left in the world, and the murder made it even worse. The protagonist needed to solve the puzzle and go through all the side effects of technology and humanity. In the end - shocking for the readers - the murder is not about death, It’s about awakening.About the courage to see the truth when it hurts.About the risk of letting go of control.- Brilliant, bleak, and strangely beautiful.
“Brief Answers”… Well, but not easy to comprehend at all.To aid my understanding, I had to turn to AI and some educational science videos. Otherwise, Stephen Hawking’s final work was really too hard for me to understand.Nevertheless, I love the final chapter of this book “How Do We Shape the Future?” where Mr Hawking encouraged all youngsters to get familiar with science. “Unleash your imagination. Shape the future.”
The Tales of Beedle the Bard is the book Professor Dumbledore sent to Hermione Granger, which ultimately led the trio to the legend of the Deathly Hallows.I just finished the entire book - translated from the original runes by Hermione - and found that the other four stories are just as captivating. Reading them feels like diving into a collection of Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tales, blending whimsy with deeper lessons. After each story, we can also get to read Professor Dumbledore’s insightful notes, which offer profound philosophical reflections. This book is a delightful read for both wizards and muggles alike.
